{"id":191,"date":"2006-06-14T04:20:44","date_gmt":"2006-06-14T09:20:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ocularfusion.net\/?p=191"},"modified":"2022-01-02T07:39:47","modified_gmt":"2022-01-02T12:39:47","slug":"road-triiiip","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ocularfusion.net\/?p=191","title":{"rendered":"ROAD TRIIIIP!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"334\" height=\"339\" align=\"top\" title=\"Road Trip.jpg\" id=\"image190\" alt=\"Road Trip.jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ocularfusion.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/06\/Road%20Trip.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This morning, Operation Get Number One Son Out of the House, Into College and On the Road to Independent Living begins in earnest with a road trip to visit <a href=\"http:\/\/www.appstate.edu\/\">Appalachian State University<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www2.davidson.edu\/index.asp\">Davidson College<\/a> and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uga.edu\/\">University of Georgia<\/a>&#8211;three colleges in three days.<\/p>\n<p>Among the questions that will be answered on this trip (if not before) are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Will Number One start to get a clue as to what he wants to do for college?<\/li>\n<li>Does a 44-year-old man have what it takes to grind out a 1000 mile, 3-day road trip with two 17-year-old boys (Number One and his buddy Zac) who are armed with iPods full of high intensity, eardrum popping music?<\/li>\n<li>Our hotel rooms have twin beds&#8211;who will get to sleep solo? (Answer: Yours truly, since I&#8217;m paying for it)<\/li>\n<li>Will I get lost? (Answer: Most likely, and more than once)<\/li>\n<li>Will I stop and ask for directions? (Answer: Absolutely not)<\/li>\n<li>What will the folks at UGa say when we show up at the admissions office and yell, &#8220;Roll Tide?&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I don&#8217;t know if I&#8217;ll have internet access or time to post a report while I&#8217;m gone, but I&#8217;ll try to at least take some pictures and some mental notes for when I get back.
