Where There’s Smoke, There’s a Hire

If this can be believed, then today is the day an eager Crimson Nation spots puffs of smoke issuing forth from Denny Chimes. Where there’s smoke, there’s a hire.

As soon as the planes start lifting off and landing, I’ll let you know.

Meanwhile, it’s 16 degrees with a 4 degree wind chill factor in Huntsville this morning. For you weather buffs, those are the same conditions as International Falls, Minnesota, long-considered the cold standard in the United States. Contrary to the song, we really don’t have too many “frosty mornin’s” in Dixie any more, and we’ve got the lightweight, ineffective coats to prove it.

Weather related, sorry not into Alabama Coach. Who would have thought we would be colder than N. Dakota. God is in control. Global warming!!!

    Did you mean “global warming???”

Finebaum just said Rodriguez is staying at WV. Is that true?

It looks that way. WVU ponied up extra $$ (1.8 mill per annum) according to reports I’m reading. Looks like RR played UA like a fiddle to get what he wanted from his alma mater.

    Plus facilities improvement…..

    Whither Gene Stallings?

As we used to say growing up in the Old Dominion, “Did anything good ever come out of West Virginia?”

what’s the latest? I keep hearing Saban’s name again, some suggesting he might be interested after Dec 31 (season end). Any other names circulating over there?

All is quiet on the coaching search front. Apparently everyone is settling in for the long haul with an announcement more likely toward the end of the bowl and NFL regular season (late Dec–early Jan).

I hear rumors that Saban’s family hates Miami and that may be a factor, but he continues to deny interest, although perhaps not in as strong a language as two weeks ago.
