We Missed You, Amy

Ouch. The U.S. women’s soccer team, minus the team’s leading scorer Amy Wambach (broken leg), falls to Norway.

Not a good start. And the NYT writer sounds pretty hacked about the CHINESE SMOG.

Are you paying attention to Ryan Hall in the marathon? Runners’ World has a great article this month profiling Hall’s quick rise in the event and his very deep faith in Christ. Good stuff. I’m a fan.

This is my first Olympics as a runner, so I am feeling much more engaged with Track and Field and the personalities. I found surprising “Olympic fever” when I pounded out my four miles this morning.

    USA. USA.

Hall is on my radar. Another interesting running dude is American steeplechaser Anthony Familglietti (click here).

He sounds a little like Pre, only with a Bible in his bag.

I still look back and see Soviet and East German ghosts over my shoulder in the early morning haze. It never gets old for me.
