No Debate

I understand that there is much debate over which Democrat won Super Tuesday.

But there is no debate as to who got Julio.

And there is certainly no debate as to who won The Tangle in the Triangle.

Barners, better check that broken fence gate before more of ’em get away. And if anyone out there knows any Tarheel fans (I know, I know, but I understand they do exist), please link them to this post so that I may taunt them mercilessly. Thank you.

Roll Tide. Go Duke. Two great tastes that go great together.

Ah, come on, surely we can agree on something? A presidential candidate maybe? 🙂

I can’t remember ever being so excited on a college signing day…Good days are coming

(who would name their kid Don’ta?)

In elementary school, I knew a kid named Munday Morning Bonds. He was born on Monday morning was the story I heard.

You know what his younger brother’s name was?

    Ed.

    Roll Tide, Donna.

“Two great tastes that go great together”

    I wouldn’t go that far 🙂

Great win. The more I think about it, the less certain I am that Lawson’s presence would have changed the outcome. It may have, but it wouldn’t have stopped Ellington and Green from bricking wide-open shot after shot (4-24!!). And Thompson and Ginyard stepped up to balance some of the poor shooting by those two. I can’t possibly imagine Hansbrough having a better game.

Q did have a rough first half but Duke was only up 3 at the half, and outscored them by 8 in the 2nd when Q played much better. He had 10 points and 7 assists, which is pretty solid for a 3rd string PG. Of course, the 6 turnovers is where the primary Lawson difference would have been.

Their chances would have been much better with him on the floor, but I don’t think the win can be as easily dismissed as some seem to think.

And Jay Bilas is dead to me…

I didn’t figure you would, but at least we can find common ground on that other 50%.

They’ll get a chance to test that little “we would have won if we had Lawson” theory at Cameron in early March. I see now more than ever why they call him Hansbrough Psycho-T. He pretty much can do what he wants in the paint, including flailing and diving at will. I can’t help but think how much more effective he would have been (like, say, at the FT stripe) had he settled down a bit and stayed on his feet more. He told his strength coach before the game that he was probably too keyed up and I think that was putting it mildly. Still, he is a man among boys out there.

What a balanced attack and use of strengths (shooting, athleticism and in-your-face D) to counter the height and rebounding disadvantage! It was Clemson all over again, only infinitely more satisfying. They are a much better team since losing to Pitt. Coach K is a maestro.

As for Bilas, I haven’t heard what he said and I can’t access the video from here, so I’ll check it out later.

I was joking about Bilas. (He said with Lawson, UNC is clearly the better team.)

    Regarding “clearly:” We shall see.
